Indian diplomatic missions in New York and Atlanta hosted mango festivals to promote premium Indian mangoes and expand their presence in the U.S. market.
The Consulate General of India in New York on June 23 hosted an Indian Mango Festival at Time Out Market in Union Square, where more than 1,000 New Yorkers sampled Kesar mangoes from Gir, Gujarat, and Langra mangoes from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Consulate, many attendees praised their sweetness, aroma and flavor.

A video shared by the mission featured visitors describing the fruit as "amazing," "life changing," "really delicious," and "incredibly fragrant and decadent and sweet."
One attendee praised the fruit's distinctive taste and fragrance. "I didn't even know what I was missing. I could eat five of those a day," one attendee said. Another called the mango "incredibly fragrant and decadent and sweet."
The Consulate said Indian mangoes "quickly became everyone's favorite" during the event and thanked Time Out New York and Time Out Market for partnering in organizing the festival.
A similar celebration was held on June 25 in Atlanta, where the Consulate General of India, in association with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), organized a Mango Festival at Global Mall.

The event drew participation from state and county officials, members of the consular corps, business leaders, Indian exporters and members of the Indian American community.
Visitors sampled a range of premium Indian mango varieties and mango-based recipes.
During the event, the Consul General highlighted the deep cultural connection of mangoes with India, the country's diversity of mango varieties and their culinary uses. Georgia State Representative Matt Reeves and Padma Bhushan awardee Jagdish Sheth also shared their experiences with Indian mangoes and encouraged attendees to explore the fruit's distinctive flavors.
The Atlanta Consulate said it plans to organize additional mango promotion events across the metro area in the coming weeks.
