Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) President Khanderao Kand has called on Indian Americans to become more active in U.S. policymaking, arguing that the community's longstanding focus on cultural and charitable work has come at the expense of mainstream civic engagement.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Rooted and Roaming podcast with Avatans Kumar and Amitabh VW Mittal, Kand said, "If you are not at the table, you are on the menu," underscoring the need for greater political participation and advocacy.
