Hinglish film ‘Brilliant Idea’ continues strong theatrical run in U.S.

The film reached the milestone after reporting sold-out screenings at select U.S. AMC locations.

The Hinglish feature film Brilliant Idea has entered its third week in U.S. theaters following its May 29 release that drew strong attendance at select AMC locations across multiple states.

Brilliant Idea follows two South Asian restaurant owners in the United States who try various "brilliant ideas" to make their businesses successful and achieve the American dream. Their efforts lead to a series of comedic situations, including a trip to Ludhiana, India, where one of them seeks advice from two businessmen known for selling "brilliant ideas" to struggling entrepreneurs.

Directed by Rabinder Parasher and produced by New Jersey-based filmmakers J.S. King and Tarun Kumar Ricky, the film was released at AMC Theatres in New Jersey, Indiana, Florida, North Carolina and Texas.



 According to the filmmakers, several screenings reported sold-out attendance during the opening weekend, including shows at AMC New Brunswick 18 in New Jersey. 

A weekday matinee screening on June 2 also drew a full audience.

The third-week milestone was marked with a puja dedicated to Lord Ganesha at Hillsborough Cinemas in New Jersey. The ceremony was conducted by Pandit Chet Ram Acharya of Durga Temple, New Jersey, and attended by members of the cast and crew.

The 103-minute comedy stars J.S. King, Tarun Kumar Ricky, Sukhwinder Singh, Chander Mohan and Rajesh Prasher. According to the filmmakers, the project was developed to create opportunities for Indian American actors and support independent filmmaking within the community.

The film’s title song features vocals by veteran Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu, with lyrics by Rajesh Prasher and music by Chander Mohan.
