Foreign campuses must prove value in India says academician

He said global brands entering India will be judged by student returns, not name recognition alone.

Foreign universities opening campuses in India will succeed only if they deliver strong value to students through research, industry links and job outcomes, V. Ramgopal Rao, group vice-chancellor of BITS Pilani and former director of IIT Delhi, said.

According to him, the opportunity for international university campuses in India is “real,” but the market would be “unforgiving” if institutions fail to offer clear value to students.
