Community members at the event / FIA Chicago
Nearly 100 community members gathered at Hanuman Mandir in Chicago to celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga on June 14.
The event was jointly organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA)-Chicago, Indian Community of Niles Township (ICNT), United Senior Pariwar and Hanuman Mandir in collaboration with the Consulate General of India.

Deputy Consul General Sanjeev Pal, ICNT president Rohit Joshi, United Senior Parivar president Ramesh Choksi, representatives of host Hanuman Mandir, FIA-Chicago president Hemant Patel were in attendance.
The event opened with a welcome address by Joshi, who also honored the guests. A yoga session led by Jignesh Dixit and a team of instructors from Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) followed, guiding participants through a series of practices aimed at promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Addressing attendees, Pal highlighted the significance of yoga and its benefits in everyday life. Patel described yoga as one of India's most enduring contributions to the world and encouraged participants to make it a daily practice rather than limiting it to annual observances.
Several community leaders including Virendra Patel, Jagdish Hingu, Pramod Joshi, Sanjay Vora, Smitesh Shah, Bhanubhai Vyas, Usha Kamaria, Kruti Pandya, Anil Singh, Arvind Ankleshwaria, Joy (Dipen) Shah, Bhavesh Patel, and Satheesan Nair participated in the event.
Organizers said the event also demonstrated the importance of cooperation among community organizations.
