Shantanu Narayen, the Indian American chair and CEO of Adobe, will headline a Presidential Lecture at on March 25, where he is set to discuss artificial intelligence and its role in software.
The lecture, titled ‘AI’s Next Wave: Delivering Intelligence Inside Software,’ will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Fowler Hall in the Stewart Center. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public with a required ticket.
Purdue President Mung Chiang said the series aims to bring influential leaders to campus. “The goal of our Presidential Lecture Series is to expose our students, faculty, staff and the broader campus community to leaders of different fields. Narayen has led Adobe since 2007, overseeing its transition to a cloud-based subscription model and expansion into digital experience services. The company has reported record revenue during his tenure and has increasingly focused on integrating artificial intelligence into its products.
He joined Adobe in 1998 and held several leadership roles before becoming CEO. Prior to Adobe, he worked at Apple and Silicon Graphics and co-founded a photo-sharing startup.
Narayen also serves as vice chair of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum and sits on the board of Pfizer. He has received several honors, including India’s Padma Shri.
The Presidential Lecture Series, launched in 2014, brings speakers from across fields to engage with the university community on major issues and ideas.
In a separate announcement earlier this month, Adobe said Narayen will transition from his role as chief executive officer once a successor is appointed, signaling an impending leadership change at the company.
