California-based artificial intelligence company Ayar Labs appointed Indian-American executive Sejal Patel Daswani as its chief people and operations officer.
In the newly created position, Patel Daswani will lead the company's people strategy and operational functions as Ayar Labs scales its global footprint and advances its technology for deployment by hyperscale customers.

Patel Daswani brings more than two decades of experience spanning people management, operations and corporate innovation across the technology, software and clean energy sectors.
She has led global expansion initiatives, built large teams and helped organizations navigate periods of rapid growth.
At Ayar Labs, she will focus on strengthening organizational infrastructure, scaling global operations and integrating artificial intelligence into business processes as the company prepares to commercialize its technology at a larger scale.
“Sejal stood out immediately for her ability to connect company strategy with the people, systems and operating model required to scale,” said Mark Wade, CEO and co-founder of Ayar Labs.
“That is exactly what Ayar Labs needs as we move from breakthrough innovation to commercial scale and expand our global operations. Sejal has a demonstrated track record of helping companies build the infrastructure to support innovation and growth. Her leadership will allow us to scale with speed, focus and rigor,” Wade said.
Before joining Ayar Labs, Daswani served as chief people officer at Deputy, a global human resources technology company, where she led global people strategy and future-of-work initiatives.
Earlier, she was chief human resources officer at Sunrun, where she supported the company's growth from 4,000 to 14,000 employees and played a leadership role during Sunrun's $3.2 billion acquisition of Vivint Solar.
“Solving the AI infrastructure bottleneck requires a rigorous operating model to match world-class innovation. I am thrilled to join Ayar Labs at this critical inflection point,” Daswani said.
“From my first conversations, it was clear that this team possesses a rare combination of technical brilliance and collaborative humility. I look forward to scaling our global workforce and building the disciplined operational framework needed for our next phase of hyper-growth,” she added.
Daswani has also held senior leadership positions at Visa and Pfizer. She currently serves as an advisor to SemperVirens Venture Capital, PeopleTech Partners and Kindred Minds.
The appointment comes as Ayar Labs seeks to expand adoption of co-packaged optics technology for AI infrastructure. The company recently joined NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion ecosystem and announced a partnership with Wiwynn focused on bringing CPO technology to rack-scale AI systems.
Founded in 2015, Ayar Labs develops optical interconnect technology designed to improve performance and reduce power consumption in AI computing environments. The company is backed by several strategic investors, including AMD, MediaTek and NVIDIA.
Daswani holds a dual MBA and Master of Public Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard University. She also earned degrees in biology, international affairs and international business from Columbia University.
