The Seattle Orcas defeated Washington Freedom by 88 runs in the ongoing MLC season at the Oakland Coliseum on June 25, with Shimron Hetmyer's unbeaten 79 and Jasdeep Singh's five-wicket performance leading the victory.

Seattle posted 227 for 6 in 20 overs after Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 79 off 33 balls and Marcus Stoinis added 42 off 16 deliveries.

Tim Seifert contributed 37, while Matthew Breetzke made 32 and Shayan Jahangir scored 22. Marco Jansen led Washington's bowling attack with figures of 3 for 33.

In reply, Washington was bowled out for 139 in 16.2 overs. Captain Steven Smith was dismissed for 1 in the opening over, and Mitchell Owen followed for 5. Jasdeep Singh removed Andries Gous, Glenn Maxwell and Jack Edwards during a decisive spell to leave Washington at 36 for 5. Maxwell was dismissed without scoring.

Ian Holland top-scored for Washington with 26, Marco Jansen made 20 and Amila Aponso remained unbeaten on 31, but the team was unable to recover.

Jasdeep finished with figures of 5 for 24 from four overs and was named Player of the Match.

The victory marked Seattle Orcas' most comprehensive performance of the season, with contributions from the top order, an unbeaten innings from Shimron Hetmyer, a late scoring boost from Marcus Stoinis and an effective bowling effort led by Jasdeep Singh.

The result also improved the Orcas' net run rate after their 81-run defeat to the Los Angeles Knight Riders earlier in the tournament. Washington Freedom, meanwhile, will look to address its batting shortcomings after losing wickets at regular intervals, including Glenn Maxwell's dismissal for a first-ball duck, as it prepares for its remaining matches in Oakland.
