The High Commission of India in London held a ceremony to celebrate the return of several artifacts, including a 16th-century bronze idol of Saint Thirumangai Alvar from the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, England, to the Government of India.

The High Commission took to X to announce the repatriation, mentioning that the move reflects a “commitment to safeguarding and restoring heritage to its rightful inheritors.”
