Indian American actress and writer Mindy Kaling has been announced as the central voice of Dunkin’s new holiday release, 'The Little Holiday MUNCHKIN,' a children’s book and animated short designed to spotlight themes of belonging, kindness, and overlooked charm.

The Emmy-nominated writer, producer, and actor narrates the project, anchoring the brand’s seasonal storytelling with her distinctive style. The short animated film uses Kaling’s narration as its emotional anchor, mixing humor with a warm holiday sentiment meant to resonate with families.

Kaling’s participation was announced on Nov. 17 alongside the launch, positioning her narration as the driving force behind the tale of a tiny donut-hole hero. Her delivery guides the tone of both the book and the animation, reinforcing a message that small, often unnoticed characters can carry the most heart.

“Dunkin' MUNCHKINS are a favorite in my house, so this was kind of a no-brainer for me,” Kaling said. “What I love about this story is how it celebrates the overlooked things that end up being the most special. I’m a sucker for an underdog—and for the holidays—so this book is definitely earning a spot in our bedtime story rotation.”

The book ends with a recipe for MUNCHKINS Bread Pudding, reinforcing the playful tone that Kaling amplifies throughout the narrative. The animation, featuring her voice, is streaming on Dunkin’s YouTube channel and social platforms.
