Indian origin footballer Manisha Kalyan marked her historic debut with a win, featuring for the football club Alianza Lima in their 5-0 victory against Flamengo FBC on March 29, becoming the first Indian woman to play for a top-division South American club.
After signing with the Peruvian side in January — becoming the first Indian woman to join a top-tier South American club — Kalyan came off the bench in the 72nd minute to make her first appearance in the league.
