INDVest Forum NYC holds session on Indian innovation

The event was headlined by founders and entrepreneurs Ravi Karkara, Shubham Dhoot, Prabhav Sharma and Vinod Jose.

The INDVest Forum NYC, in collaboration with StartoPreneur360, hosted a virtual session on Oct.16, to discuss India's rise as a major innovation and economic power.

Titled, 'The India Moment: Make in India Innovation Driving a $35T++ by 2047,' it was hosted by Ravi Karkara, Founder of INDVest Investors Forum NYC, and Shubham Dhoot, Founder of StartoPreneur360.

The panel also featured entrepreneurs and investors Prabhav Sharma, Chairman of AlphaX Holding (UAE), and Vinod Jose, General Partner at Callapina Capital (USA).

Karkara emphasized upon the need for working together and said, "India’s moment is a global invitation to co-create a future where innovation transcends borders." He noted the importance of prioritizing and highlighting a few key sectors like AI, semiconductors, fintech, water, space tech, defense, green architecture, and infrastructure, will fuel India’s ambitious growth.

Prabhav Sharma described India’s journey of growth as a "tapestry of vision and action, woven through space tech, defense, green infrastructure, and startups launching satellites and building sustainable cities".

He urged investors to focus on bold, purposeful investments, noting, “Ninety percent of enduring global impact flows from 10 percent of bold investments in these frontiers.”

Talking about India's startup surge, Jose noted, "This surge isn’t just India’s path to a $35 trillion economy—it’s a cornerstone for U.S. prosperity. Sustaining momentum requires bold capital, trust, and a shared commitment to lead global innovation."

Co-host Dhoot called for urgent action and said, "India’s startups are a spark, ignite them with innovation and commercialization of patented research, and we’ll light up a $35 trillion future."

In the last leg of the event, a Question and Answer session was organized. A variety of topics ranging from talent retention and regulatory navigation to scaling sustainability were discussed during this session.

Concluding the day's discussions, Karkara said, “India’s moment is a convergence of policy, passion, and potential—inviting the world to invest in a tomorrow that starts today.”

The event pushed for focussed collaborative action, it discussed how far India has come and also prepared a roadmap for the next generation of global business leaders.
