The Consul General of India in Houston, D.C. Manjunath, met senior leadership of Louisiana State University’s College of Engineering on Nov. 22 to examine targeted avenues for research collaboration and academic support, signalling a more structured push to deepen U.S.–India institutional linkages.

The meeting focused on identifying joint opportunities in engineering research, faculty engagement, and potential expansion of program-level partnerships.

LSU’s engineering leadership and the Indian mission reviewed ongoing projects and assessed where bilateral cooperation can be scaled with tangible outcomes.

During the visit, Manjunath also held a separate interaction with Indian students and faculty, stressing the consulate’s support mandate across eight southern U.S. states. He urged students to stay closely linked with consular services for guidance on mobility, documentation, and local challenges, reinforcing the mission’s role as a primary resource hub for the growing Indian student cohort.

The outreach forms part of a broader effort by the Houston consulate to tighten institutional collaboration while delivering more responsive support to Indian students across the region.
