Financial advisory firm Dundon Advisers announced on Jan. 5 that Hoboken Mayor Ravinder “Ravi” S. Bhalla will join the firm as managing director upon the conclusion of his term on Jan. 15.
The appointment coincides with the conclusion of Bhalla’s second and final term as mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey, and the commencement of his first term as a New Jersey State Assembly member, representing Hoboken and parts of Jersey City.

Matthew Dundon, principal of Dundon, said, “We are excited to offer our private- and public-sector clients Ravi's tremendous leadership in bringing critical infrastructure investments from concept to reality.”
“We will build on his success at scales both local, leading the way on over $500 million in infrastructure projects, and global, becoming an important thought leader among government officials and corporate executives on infrastructure investment matters,” he added.
Bhalla said, "I am thrilled to start to work with Matt and his colleagues. I believe their ten-year track record of providing first-rate financial services to institutional clients will enable me to broaden into new domains my long-standing commitment to smart infrastructure investment, powered by capital markets, commercial partners, and governmental support."
Bhalla has previously worked as a civil rights attorney in private practice, litigating federal and state matters in areas such as employment law, municipal law, and complex civil litigation. He gained early legal recognition when he challenged a visitation policy at a federal detention facility, influencing national corrections policy.
Bhalla holds a bachelor of science in political psychology from the University of California, Berkeley; a master of science in public administration and public policy from the London School of Economics; and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School.
He previously served on the Hoboken City Council from 2009 until becoming mayor in 2018, where he was council president and vice president at different times. His tenure in local government included initiatives on fiscal responsibility, transportation safety, affordable housing strategies, and climate action.
