Denmark hosts Happiness Festival celebrating India's spiritual traditions

The Happiness Festival 2026, organized by the Mohanji Peace Centre in Denmark, brought together members of the Indian diaspora, the wider Danish community and visitors from neighboring countries. 

The festival was a two-day celebration of yoga, music, workshops, and discussions highlighting India's spiritual and cultural traditions, according to a post on X by the Embassy of India in Denmark and a press release issued by the centre.

India's Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat, attended the festival and addressed participants, commending the Mohanji Peace Centre for promoting the universal values of peace, harmony, non-violence and well-being while strengthening cultural ties between India and Denmark, according to the embassy.

The two-day festival, held July 4-5 in Langebæk, also featured the consecration of murtis of Shirdi Sai Baba, Lord Ganesha and Lord Dattatreya, according to the Mohanji Peace Centre.

Described by the organizers as the first major international event hosted at the centre, the festival opened with the ceremonial hoisting of the Danish flag, followed by an address from Brahmarishi Mohanji, who encouraged participants to pursue inner happiness, lasting peace and self-realization, according to the release.

Among the featured sessions was a workshop titled "Manifesting Abundance – The Reprogramming," which was also streamed online, according to the centre. The festival included spiritual discourses, yoga sessions, cultural activities and opportunities for community engagement designed to bring together participants from different backgrounds.

According to the Mohanji Peace Centre, Ambassador Prabhat's participation reflected the centre's growing international profile and the expanding reach of India's spiritual and cultural heritage in Europe



Prabhat, a career diplomat with 29 years of service, has held overseas assignments in Denmark, France, Italy, the United States, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Russia, according to his biography published by the Copenhagen Business School's International Business Club. He has worked on strengthening India's strategic partnerships with France and Uzbekistan and is currently engaged in advancing the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, the biography states. He also helped organize the founding meeting of the International Solar Alliance during the COP21 Summit in Paris in 2015, representing India as one of the initiative's founding countries.

Founded by Brahmarishi Dr. Mohanji, the Mohanji Foundation is headquartered in Switzerland and is registered in 23 countries, with centers operating in 90 countries, including ashrams in nine nations, according to the organization.
