Delaware Governor issues proclamation honoring Sadhguru

Court evidence showed the defendant coordinated a multi-state scheme targeting elderly victims through impersonation and gold transfer scams.

The Office of the Governor of Delaware issued an official proclamation welcoming Indian spiritual leader Sadhguru and recognizing his contributions as a yogi, humanitarian, author, and environmentalist.

The proclamation, signed by Governor Matthew Meyer and dated April 15, states that Sadhguru has “inspired millions in India and around the world through his teachings of yogic sciences and spiritual practices, rooted in ancient traditions and made relevant to modern audiences.”

It also cites his work through the Isha Foundation, a nonprofit that conducts yoga programs and outreach initiatives globally, and his engagements at international forums, noting that he has reached diverse audiences worldwide.

 



The document describes Sadhguru as “one of India’s most influential citizens and a prominent spiritual leader of our time,” and highlights his contributions to environmental protection, rural revitalization, and public well-being.

The proclamation further acknowledges his impact on communities in Delaware, including engagement around health, mindfulness, and environmental stewardship, and notes support from the Indian American community during his visit.

“We join our friends and neighbors in the Indian American community in celebrating Sadhguru’s visit to Delaware and extend our sincere appreciation for his contributions and enduring influence,” the proclamation states.

Sharing the proclamation in a social media post, Sadhguru wrote: “An honour and pleasure to meet you, Governor @MattMeyerDE. The most profound contribution any human being can make is to touch another life. Our humanity will find full expression only when people are joyful. Wonderful to see your wholehearted dedication to the people of Delaware.”

Sadhguru, born Jaggi Vasudev, is an Indian spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation. He has led yoga and meditation programs attended by millions worldwide and has spoken at global platforms including the United Nations and the World Economic Forum. 

His environmental campaigns, including large-scale tree plantation and soil conservation initiatives, have drawn international attention. He is also the author of several books on spirituality and inner well-being.
