Chicago Raiders on Nov. 16 clinched the inaugural Mayor’s New World T20 Cricket League 2025 title, defeating Florida Hurricanes by four wickets in Fort Lauderdale.

Completing an unbeaten campaign, the Raiders chased down 180 in 19.1 overs, led by a rapid 57 off 21 balls from opener Kennar Lewis that set the tone in the powerplay.

Lewis struck five sixes to disrupt the Hurricanes’ attack before Daniel Williams added 27 off 16 to maintain momentum. Aakarshit Gomel closed out the chase with an unbeaten 35 off 23 balls, hitting the winning runs.

Four Hurricanes bowlers claimed a wicket each, but the attack was unable to stem Chicago’s tempo through the chase.

Veteran Dinesh Ramdin, promoted to No. 3, contributed 45 off 32 with measured stroke play, and Damion Joachim added a composed 31.

Chicago’s bowling effort was spread across Shenan Jayasuriya, Manan Sharma, and Rishi Dhawan, each taking a wicket to restrict acceleration through the middle overs.
