Actor Adil Hussain to discuss art and life at Washington embassy

Indian actor Adil Hussain has been invited for a dialogue hosted by the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., on May 29.

Hussain, an acclaimed Indian actor known for his powerful performances in international and Indian cinema across Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, English and Tamil films, will talk about his art and life during the discussion at the Indian Embassy.

He has gained global recognition through films such as Life of Pi, The Reluctant Fundamentalist and English Vinglish, earning praise for his nuanced and versatile acting style.

Hussain has also been honored with several awards for his contribution to cinema and is regarded as one of India’s finest contemporary character actors.

Announcing the event, the U.S. Embassy said on social media, "Join us for an engaging conversation with Mr. Adil Hussain, acclaimed Indian actor, on Friday, 29 May 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m."

It also noted that only limited seats are available, urging everyone to reserve their seats.

Hussain also shared details of the event and said, "It is my pleasure and honor to be invited by the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C. Looking forward to sharing my views about art and life and much more."

Hussain continued, "Hope to see there. 29th May 6 to 7 pm at the Embassy premises."

Hussain recently made news after his upcoming film 52 Blue was selected as the opening film of the 17th London Indian Film Festival, where it will have its European premiere at BFI Southbank on July 9.

The football-themed drama, inspired by a young Kerala fan’s admiration for Lionel Messi, also stars Neha Dhupia and is directed by Ali El Arabi.
