Cities across the United States and in more than 20 countries marked Mahesh Navami, which was observed on June 4 this year, with official proclamations, cultural programs, and coordinated community events.
Mahesh Navami, also known as Vanshottpatti Divas, commemorates the Maheshwari community's origins, which can be traced back to a transition from a warrior tradition to a business-oriented path that was inspired by Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
In Texas, the City of Stafford and Fort Bend County officially declared Mahesh Navami Day. The proclamations were facilitated by Houston-based community leader Arun Mundra.
“The community chose a path away from violence, toward progress,” Mundra said on the significance of the festival at the Houston gathering, which was attended by local Maheshwari Association vice president Vivek and secretary Ankit.
Events abroad included a major celebration in Dubai, and greetings were shared from Maheshwari groups in Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the UK. Musical tributes during the celebrations included devotional performances by singer Seema Soaboo Moondra.
Hollywood artist Ravidrums, known for participating in earlier diaspora events like “Howdy Modi,” also sent his wishes to the Maheshwari community on the occasion.
Representatives of NRI Maheshwari Global coordination Arun Mundra as well as Dheeraj Rathi invited all Maheshwaris globally to be part of the Maheshwari Global Convention and Business Expo set to take place in Jodhpur in January 2026, after a gap of five years.
