Moffitt dedicates cancer clinic to Indian American donor

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida officially dedicated its Genitourinary (GU) clinic as the Nilesh Mehta GU Clinic, honoring the Indian American entrepreneur and philanthropist for his significant contributions to cancer research and care.

Mehta, who was successfully treated for bladder cancer at Moffitt two years ago, donated $1.25 million to establish the Nilesh Mehta Bladder Cancer Research Fund. 

Since 1996, Mehta has been deeply involved in the global health sector, investing millions to develop, manufacture, and supply life-saving medical diagnostic tests. He has set up manufacturing facilities in Gujarat, India, and New Jersey, playing a key role in making medical diagnostics more accessible worldwide.

Mehta has also served as the national president of the Indian American Forum for Political Education from 2004 to 2026, an organization focused on increasing political awareness and engagement among Indian Americans.

Moffitt Cancer Center, based in Tampa, is one of only 57 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the U.S. Known for its scientific excellence and multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment.
