For the youth of this city—those navigating dreams, pressures, and the pulse of possibility—Mayor Adams has shown up with real investments. From expanding Saturday Night Lights to launching a $485 million blueprint for mentorship, mental health, and job training, he’s not just talking about keeping kids off the streets—he’s building pathways to purpose.
For older New Yorkers—the backbone of our boroughs—Adams is reshaping how the city honors its elders. His creation of the Cabinet for Older New Yorkers is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings 17 city agencies together to ensure age-inclusive services, housing, and public safety. He’s also pushing for more two-bedroom senior housing, so families can stay together and age with dignity.
Affordability
And for every New Yorker gathered around the kitchen table—worrying about rent, groceries, and the cost of simply staying afloat—Mayor Adams is delivering. His “City of Yes” housing initiative is the most ambitious zoning reform in decades, aiming to unlock 100,000 new homes and make New York livable again for working families. He’s fighting to convert empty offices into apartments, eliminate exclusionary zoning, and build more affordable units in every neighborhood.
He understands that affordability isn’t abstract—it’s the price of eggs, the rent check, the MetroCard refill. And he’s tackling it head-on.
Jobs created
Under his leadership, New York has seen record-breaking job creation, more than any mayor in city history. That’s not just a statistic. That’s a paycheck for a single mom in the Bronx, a second chance for a young man in Harlem, and a lifeline for a retiree in Queens.
Compassionate
But what truly sets Mayor Adams apart is his balance of compassion and conviction. He’s tough on crime because he knows safety is the foundation of opportunity. He has expanded NYPD’s Quality of Life Division to address everyday concerns—from illegal mopeds to noise complaints—while also pushing for smarter gun control and community-based policing. He’s made it clear: New Yorkers deserve to feel safe, seen, and respected.
At the same time, Adams leads with empathy. Whether it’s advocating for addiction treatment through his Compassionate Interventions Act or personally meeting with tenants facing housing neglect, he shows up—not just as a mayor, but as a human being who listens.
