International Emmy‑winning comedian Vir Das is all set to return with his most intimate Netflix special yet, on July 18.
Titled ‘Vir Das: Fool Volume’ the new show is a deeply personal exploration of voice and vulnerability, Das said. He revealed that the original concept had to be scrapped after he lost his voice two months before shooting.
“This is a show rewritten in silence and performed without rehearsal across the world,” the comedian said, adding, “Turns out the voice in your head is way crazier than the one in your throat.”
In Fool Volume, Das poses probing questions on reclaiming joy and using our voices: “How much happiness do you share when it comes back? What does it mean for any of us to REALLY use our voice?”
This marks Das’s fifth collaboration with Netflix and follows earlier specials such as Abroad Understanding, Losing It, Outside In, and Landing. His last special, Landing, earned him the International Emmy for Best Comedy Series in December 2023.
