Malaysian tech firm Green Packet Berhad has appointed Datuk Wira Shahul Hameed Dawood as its new managing director and Group chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Datuk Wira Shahul steps into the role with over three decades of experience across public and private sectors. His appointment marks a significant leadership shift as Green Packet aims to expand its footprint in digital innovation and regional growth.
Prior to this, he served as CEO of the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), where he led large-scale national talent programs involving millions of Malaysians. His tenure at HRD Corp saw partnerships across industry, academia, and international institutions.
He is known for forming broad coalitions that span government, business, and community stakeholders. His ability to lead transformation initiatives and build public-private collaborations is expected to shape Green Packet’s next phase.
“This role is not just about leading a company – it’s about aligning technology with real-world progress,” Datuk Wira Shahul said.
He added, “Green Packet has the people, platform, and passion to scale impact beyond Malaysia. I look forward to working with our teams and partners to shape solutions that matter – locally and globally.”
Green Packet stated that the appointment reflects a strategic push toward inclusive innovation and long-term digital development across the ASEAN region. The company said it aims to move beyond commercial metrics and become a driver of broader digital change.
