Sewa International, a leading global humanitarian nonprofit, hosted a fundraising gala in Dallas, uniting community leaders, donors, and volunteers in support of its humanitarian initiatives.
Held on May 18, the event aimed to generate awareness and funding for the organization’s projects, including disaster relief, healthcare, education, and community service.

The evening opened with a Ganesh Vandana performed by Swarlahari and a lamp-lighting ceremony led by chief guest and State Bank of Texas chairman Chandrakant Patel, Mago and Associates chairman Ashok Mago, Sewa Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) Chapter president Gitesh Desai, and PM AM Corporation CEO Pankaj Kumar.
Desai welcomed guests and led a moment of silence in memory of the Pahalgam tragedy and Mohini Gehani, one of the strongest supporters of Sewa International in the United States.
Board member Dilip Shah introduced the impactful Sewa Hindu Mobile Pantry project, an initiative that delivers essential groceries to underprivileged communities, addressing food security. Chief guest Chandrakant Patel shared personal stories and praised Sewa’s unique service model, followed by his felicitation alongside his wife Surekha Patel.
Keynote speaker Ashok Mago emphasized the spirit of giving in his speech following which he was honored alongside his wife Monika. Other speakers, including Mukul Saran, Dharmit Shah, and Vaishali Thakkar, highlighted Sewa’s work in family services and scholarships.
The gala also featured cultural performances by Hemang Thakkar and his team, flutist Anis Chandani, and vocalist Vishruti Vyas.
