Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Canada from Cyprus late on June 16 at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Modi, who is currently on a three-nation tour, is visiting Canada for the first time in 10 years.
This Canada visit is scheduled for him to attend the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, where Modi will have discussions with world leaders on global issues such as energy security, technology and innovation.

G7 leaders from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the U.S., along with the European Union, are convening in the resort area of Kananaskis in the Canadian Rockies until June 17.
The Kananaskis gathering is the Prime Minister's 6th consecutive participation in the G7 Summit.
