JTNA to organize Jagannath Ratha Yatra in Maryland

Jagannath is primarily known as the ‘Lord of the Universe’ and is considered one of the forms of Vishnu.

The Maryland temple’s Ratha Yatra will follow the footsteps of Odisha’s Jagannath Ratha Yatra / Jagannath Temple of North America

The Jagannath Temple of North America (JTNA) is organizing a traditional Ratha Yatra on June 28.

Ratha Yatra, also known as Ratha Jatra or Chariot festival, is a Hindu festival rooted in Odisha for Jagannath and associated Hindu deities. Lord Jagannath’s image, along with images of two other associated deities, is ceremoniously brought out of the sacrosanctum of his chief temple in Jagannath Puri.

The Ratha Yatra by JTNA in Maryland will follow the footsteps of the yatra in Odisha.

It will start at 9 a.m. EDT from the Jagannath Temple of North America in Cooksville, Maryland.
