Written and directed by Shieladitya Moulik, the film revolves around a morally complex female protagonist — a divorced mother who impulsively decides to steal her daughter for a birthday celebration, only to later find that the child has actually been abducted. She opts for the most unconventional approach to remedy the situation, leading to a life-altering journey that reflects on self-absorbed parents forced to confront their shortcomings as caretakers.

Indian actress Swastika Mukherjee will star in the lead role of Brishti. Known for her performances in 'Qala', 'Paatal Lok', and 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!', Mukherjee is set to headline the project.

With its blend of rooted regional storytelling and universal emotional themes, 'Chheledhora' is being positioned for the international festival circuit following completion, reflecting a growing trend in Indian cinema toward cross-border creative partnerships.
