Two Indian students were killed in a road accident at Pennsylvania Turnpike, Lancaster County, on May 10. The victims, Saurav Prabhakar (23) and Manav Patel (20), were studying at Cleveland State University in Ohio. Their vehicle skid off the roadway as it approached the Turnpike and hit a tree before colliding with a bridge, police said.
The Consulate General of India in New York has condoled the deaths and assured support to grieving families. "Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate road accident in which two Indian students from Cleveland State University, Manav Patel and Saurav Prabhakar, lost their lives," the Consulate posted on X (formerly Twitter). "Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this difficult time. The Consulate is in touch with the families and has assured them of all possible assistance," it added.

Saurav Prabhakar was driving the vehicle with Manav Patel by his side when the accident took place. Both were pronounced dead on the spot. The coroner's report said they died of multiple traumatic injuries. A third individual, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was also in the vehicle and was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment.
