Indian Pleads Guilty in Marriage Fraud

The man faces jail time, monetary fines and is also subject to removal from the United States.

An Indian national has pleaded guilty to a marriage fraud scheme aimed at fraudulently obtaining the Green Card, US Citizenship and Immigration Services said on May 28.

Aakash Prakash Makwana, a 29-year-old Indian national unlawfully living in West Virginia, faces jail time, monetary fines and is also subject to removal from the United States. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 26.
