Indian-owned Hilton hotel denies bookings from ICE and DHS
DHS described the move as unacceptable and alleged an attempt to impede law enforcement efforts.

Indian-origin hoteliers have sparked controversy after their Hampton Inn by Hilton in Lakeville, Minnesota, canceled reservations made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents, marking a refusal to cooperate with immigration enforcement.
The hotel is jointly owned by Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra and Mohinderjeet Kaur, according to records from the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Reacting to the incident, DHS said in a post on X, “When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations.”
It added, “This is UNACCEPTABLE. Why is Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and impede DHS law enforcement from their mission to enforce our nation’s immigration laws?”

The cancellation emails received by the agents stated that their names were associated with “immigration work.” Another email screenshot shared by DHS read, “We have an influx of GOV reservations made today that have been for DHS, and we are not allowing any immigration agents to stay at our property.”
The hotel also asked guests to inform management if they were associated with DHS or ICE, stating that immigration agents were not permitted to stay at the property.
Hilton has distanced itself from the issue, noting that the hotel is privately owned and operated. The company added that the actions of the hotel are not reflective of Hilton’s values.
