India has jumped up to the 77th spot in the Henley Passport Index after a big decline in early 2025. The Indian passport now has Visa-free or Visa-on-arrival access to 59 countries.

This counter-balances the January 2025 drop of the Indian passport to the 85th rank on the Henley index.

Topped by Singapore, the index includes 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations. Updated monthly, the Henley Passport Index is considered the standard reference tool for global citizens.

India currently has Visa-free or Visa-on-arrival access to countries like Namibia, Nepal, Mozambique, Thailand, Qatar, Maldives, Malaysia etc.

Asian nations are at the forefront of global mobility. Singapore leads with visa-free access to 193 destinations, while Japan and South Korea follow closely, offering visa-free travel to 190 countries. Seven European countries—Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain tie for third position, each with access to 189 destinations.

Along with the highest ranks, the lowest ranks can also be found in Asia. Afghanistan holds the lowest rank in the list, closely followed by Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
