How Shahista Jiwani left finance career to build a trampoline park business in US

Armed with an MBA, Jiwani applied the tools of strategic planning, marketing, and operations to build her new business.

Indian-origin Shahista Jiwani, a former finance executive who now operates successful Altitude Trampoline Park franchises in Skokie, Illinois and East Cobb, Georgia, was recently named the International Franchise Association’s 2024 Franchisee of the Year. Her transition from corporate boardrooms to family entertainment parks wasn’t just a career pivot, it was a deliberate shift toward flexibility and presence at home.

“I chose to pursue franchising to gain greater flexibility in my schedule and allow for more quality time with my children,” Jiwani told New India Abroad in an exclusive interview. “Working in corporate is always great but it can sometimes hinder you from doing everything you want for your children.”
