The University of Birmingham announced tuition fee waivers of up to $17,000 (£12,500) for Indian students applying for the 2026 academic year.
The waivers are being offered under the university’s Future Skills Scholarship programme, a funding initiative aimed at supporting Indian students enrolling in what the university describes as future-focused postgraduate courses.

The university said it has committed more than $4 million (£3 million) to the scheme. Under the program, eligible students domiciled in India can receive fee waivers ranging from about $12,400 (£9,125) to $17,000 (£12,500), depending on the course.
To qualify, applicants must hold an unconditional offer letter for an eligible full-time course at the University of Birmingham by April 30. No separate scholarship application is required, and the award will be made automatically to students who meet the criteria.
The scholarship applies to programmes including master’s of science in business analytics, master’s of science marketing, master’s of science data science, master’s of science advanced engineering management (and all pathways), master of public health, master’s of science molecular biotechnology, master’s of arts International Relations, and most master of laws (Law) courses, excluding the master of law in energy and environmental law (distance).
The scholarship is open only to students domiciled in India, classified as overseas fee payers, and studying at the university’s Birmingham (Edgbaston) campus.
The university said students must be able to cover the remaining tuition fee not covered by the scholarship as well as living and other expenses.
Students will also be required to pay their net first-year tuition fees by Nov. 1, after enrolling in September. The award cannot be deferred.
