A bipartisan resolution recognizing the heritage and contributions of Indian Americans has been introduced in the US House of Representatives.

Tom Suozzi, a Democrat from New York, partnered with Republican Representative Young Kim of California to submit the Indian American Heritage Resolution (H.Res. 819), which acknowledges the five-million-strong Indian diaspora’s impact on U.S. life — from public service to science — and condemns acts of hate and discrimination against the community.
