Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 set for July 25 release

The long-awaited sequel to 'Son of Sardaar' marks Devgn’s return to comedy

Ajay Devgn has announced that Son of Sardaar 2 will hit cinemas on July 25, 2025, reviving the boisterous humour and Punjabi flair of the 2012 original. 

The actor, who also serves as producer, shared the first-look poster via his social media, hinting at an action-comedy packed with traditional charisma and larger-than-life visuals.

The sequel will see Devgn reprising his role as Jassi, joined by Sanjay Dutt in a comeback performance. New to the ensemble is Mrunal Thakur, who steps into the female lead role, marking her entry into the franchise. Supporting cast includes Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh, with the late Mukul Dev appearing posthumously.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and penned by Punjabi writer Jagdeep Sidhu, the film is backed by Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and T-Series. 

With Son of Sardaar 2 targeting a July release, it sets up a direct competition with Param Sundari, another major Bollywood release. Devgn’s return to comedy after a hiatus is being billed as one of Bollywood’s most awaited summer events.

The film will be available exclusively on Netflix after its theatrical window closes.
