Taking a picture of the palace guards can get you into trouble in Morocco. Visitors can barely peep into the exquisite buildings of a mosque, palace or a madrasa (school) through cracks in doorways. Stepping inside the decorated buildings is a no-no. The Oberoi has built a palace, a magnificent palace in Marrakech where Rohan Oza’s bharat stayed.
Shark Tank star Rohan Oza’s wedding guests found themselves staying at the palace that the Oberoi group has taken ten years to painstakingly build. The hotel building inspired by the 14th-century Medersa Ben Youssef was built brick by brick and tile by tile right there on the premises. “Just the carved cedar-wood dome in the reception hall took two years to make,” said the room division's manager. The ceiling sits atop 19.6 ft (about 6 metres) carved plasterworked walls with ornate detailing.
