Deepika Padukone to get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
She is the first Indian woman to achieve this distinction.

Indian actress Deepika Padukone has been named as one of the Class of 2026 honorees for the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
While not the first Indian (actor Sabu Dastagir received a star in 1960), Padukone is the first Indian actress to achieve this distinction.
The actress took to Instagram to share her reaction, posting just one word: “Gratitude…”

The announcement arrives after her Hollywood debut in XXX: Return of Xander Cage (2017). Since then, she has earned acclaim through international brand collaborations and appearances at world-class events, further boosting her global presence.
Padukone joins a notable list of international stars to receive the honor this year including Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and Miley Cyrus.
The actress joins the Walk of Fame’s nearly 2,700 celebrities, and her star, set to be installed in 2026, highlights a milestone for Indian representation in global cinema.
To secure a star, recipients must cover two fees: a US $275 nomination fee and a US $75,000–85,000 sponsorship fee, which funds the star’s creation, installation, and upkeep. Padukone's team has yet to specify who will underwrite these costs.
Selected from hundreds of nominations, honorees must schedule their unveiling ceremony within two years or risk their star being revoked.
