An American influencer’s claim that Dallas, Texas, is “the most Indian place in America” set off a wave of online reactions this week after his video showcasing Indian shops and restaurants went viral on Instagram.

The clip, posted by Harry, who uses the handle Pigeon Vizion, was filmed in a Dallas neighborhood lined with Indian grocery stores, eateries, and lounges. The thumbnail read, “Dallas Texas is the most Indian place in America.” The video has drawn 33,000 likes and 2,500 plus comments.

In the footage, he walked past storefronts including India Cash and Carry, Urban Tadka, and Pakoda Indian Eatery. He later turned the camera toward a friend and asked, “What do you think about that?” The friend replied, “We just came from Mexico and now we're in India.”

Reactions

Comments poured in from across the country. Many users applauded the city’s growing Indian community and the food options available. One person wrote, “The Indian people are some of the nicest people in and around Dallas. Big W for US.”

Others argued the video overstated Dallas’ uniqueness, saying similar cultural hubs exist across the United States. A commenter noted that “every major city has a little Italy too and a China town, a Latin neighborhood, Brazilian spots, maybe a Japan town,” before adding that some viewers were responding with “fear of takeover rhetoric.” Several users pointed to cities such as Fremont, California, and Toronto as comparable or even more concentrated. One wrote, “Y’all don’t know real Indiamerica until u step foot in Fremont.”

Another comment focused on business ownership, saying, “They literally are buying whole blocks lol don’t blame them, all they are doing is spending their money.”

The video highlighted a long-running trend: the steady rise of Indian communities across the United States. Recent research from the Pew Research Center, based on 2025 Census Bureau data and the American Community Survey, estimates that about 5.2 million people of Indian descent live in the country, making them the second-largest Asian group in the United States.
