Chicago community bids farewell to CG Somnath Ghosh
The event marked his departure for his next diplomatic assignment as India's High Commissioner to Malaysia.

Members of the Indian American community gathered on July 20 to bid farewell to Consul General of India in Chicago Somanth Ghosh, as he completes his tenure.
The farewell reception, organized by National India Hub, brought together more than 250 attendees, including representatives from 55 Indian American organizations, community leaders, physicians and healthcare professionals from across the Chicago area.
Representatives from each participating organization were invited to the stage to recognize Ghosh and thank him for his engagement with the Indian diaspora during his tenure in Chicago.

Former Indian Ambassador Ausaf Sayeed and his wife, Farha Sayeed, joined Ghosh and his wife, Anandita Ghosh, on stage during the program. Deputy Consul General Kriti Das and Consul Sanjeev Pal also attended the event.
In his remarks, Ghosh praised the achievements of the Indian American community and encouraged members to continue contributing to American society. He also commended National India Hub for its efforts to serve the community and bring together organizations across the region.
The healthcare community was represented by Mehar Medavaram and Vemuri Murthy on behalf of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), the Indian American Medical Association (IAMA), and National India Hub's Community Health and CPR Training initiatives.
The program was organized by National India Hub under the leadership of founder Harish Kolasani and chief operating officer Sireesha Tipparaju. Kolasani and Keerthi Ravoori served as emcees for the evening.
Dinner for attendees was sponsored by Haribhai Patel and the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago.
Organizers said the turnout reflected both Ghosh's relationship with the Indian American community and the collaborative efforts of organizations across the region.
