Recognizing the organization's efforts, Canadian parliamentarian Harb Gill said, "The BAPS congregation here in Windsor-Essex saw a need and, within just one month, pulled together 2,000 lbs of non-perishable food for the Downtown Mission. No big speeches, just neighbours quietly stepping up to help neighbours."
Gill added, "Really proud to see this kind of community spirit in action. I was honoured to be invited to join them when the donations were delivered. This is what people of Windsor-Essex do best. Being there for each other!"
