The Asian American Unity Coalition (AAUC) will organize the 2025 Unity Summit on Sept. 16 and 17. The event will welcome hundreds of leaders, advocates, and changemakers from across the nation to Washington, D.C.
Titled 'Building Solidarity', the annual convening serves as a cornerstone for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities to engage in policy dialogue, cultural celebration, and collective action.
Featuring sessions on civil rights, economic equity, religious freedom, mental health, political participation, and the impact of recent executive orders, AAUC seeks to elevate AANHPI voices in the national narrative, in celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Attendees will also undertake advocacy training, meet Members of Congress, and enjoy multicultural performances that reflect the vibrancy of AANHPI heritage.
The Summit will honor distinguished individuals, including Dalip Singh Saund Awardee Rep. Gene Wu, Norman Mineta Awardee Ambassador M. Osman Siddique, Philanthropist of the Year Awardees Dr. Ellen Qiong Schicktanz and Dr. Surinder Sehgal, Community Service awardees Mukta Bain, Dr. Junzhou Huang and the Vietnamese Social Services of MN, as well as youth leaders Oorja Manot, Akhil Venkatesh, and Adam Zhang.
First day of the summit will feature Anil Sharma, the CEO of 22nd Century Technologies, ss a keynote speaker, along with Serial Entrepreneur and
Philanthropist Sandy Chau. The summit will end with a Congressional Reception and an awards ceremony.
AAUC Board Chair Dr. SK Lo described the summit as “more than a gathering" and described it as a "movement." He further added, "We are building unity through
shared purpose, data-driven advocacy, and the power of storytelling."
AAUC President Angela Anand highlighted the plans for the summit and said, "Together we will explore successful strategies for empowerment, discuss the obstacles we face, and collectively brainstorm solutions. We envision a space where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but actively sought out and celebrated."
The AAUC's 2025 AANHPI Unity Summit has also received a citation from Maryland Governor Wes Moore.
The District of Columbia (DC) mayor also hailed the organizers for their efforts and noted, "On behalf of more than 700,000 residents of Washington, DC, thank you for your dedication to uplifting our communities and best wishes for an inspiring and memorable event."
This year's summit will debut two novel resources, AAUC’s HUB, a centralized platform for Asian American data and statistics and the Asian American News Portal, a biweekly curated digest amplifying community stories and policy updates.
