Annakut festival celebrated in San Jose

The Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar celebrated the Annakut festival at the Shreemaya Krishnadhham in San Jose, California, on Oct. 26.
The Annakut festival is a Hindu celebration observed on the fourth day of Diwali, dedicated to expressing gratitude and thanksgiving to Goddess Annapurna, the deity of food. This auspicious occasion revolves around offering prayers to Goddess Annapurna and presenting her with various food items.

Filled with devotion, community spirit, and vibrant energy, thousands of devotees gathered for Annakut Darshan, Aarti, and Mahaprasad.
Numerous public officials joined the celebration and expressed solidarity with the community. Political leaders including San Jose Councilmember David Cohen, Sunnyvale Mayor Larry Klein and Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano attended the event.
Santa Clara Councilmember Raj Chahal, Saratoga Councilmember Yan Zhao and Former Sunnyvale Mayor Tony Spitaleri, among others, were also in attendance.
In a moment marked by inter-temple unity and celebration of the spirit of the season, the festivities also featured representatives from the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in San Jose.
