The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) is set to host the Global Healthcare Summit (GHS) 2026 at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) from Jan. 9 to Jan. 11.
President of AAPI and chairman of AAPI GHS, Dr. Amit Chakrabarty, mentioned that the three-day summit will include physicians, researchers, healthcare leaders, and innovators from India and the U.S., and focus on the association’s aim to advance global health, strengthen healthcare collaborations between the two nations, while promoting excellence in medical education, research, and clinical care.

AAPI GHS 2026 will feature continuing medical education (CME) sessions, AI-driven clinical insights, advanced surgical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, public health initiatives, and dedicated platforms for medical students and residents.
President of Odisha Physicians of America, Dr. Atasu Naya,k stated that the major highlights of the event include state-of-the-art robotic surgery presentations, a high-impact plenary session on the role of AI in global medical practice, and emergency and resuscitation workshops using advanced SimMan3G+ simulation technology.
Specialty-focused forums will also focus on critical areas, including diabetes and obesity, tuberculosis, critical care medicine, and metabolic syndrome.
The summit will also have sessions on Ayurveda, integrative medicine, yoga, and meditation with regard to AAPI’s commitment to holistic and evidence-based healthcare.
Community health initiatives like a mass hands-only CPR programme are also a part of the summit, which aims to train over 1,200 participants, and also includes HPV awareness, vaccination drives, and the AAPI stem cell registry drive.
The summit will also host a special CME on ‘Women in healthcare: challenges’, emphazing on leadership development, professional growth, and gender equity in medicine.
Delegates from across the world are expected to participate in the summit.
