Led by President Donald Trump, along with Vice President J D Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the United States intervened on May 9 following alarming intelligence reports indicating that India-Pak hostilities could escalate and spiral out of control, according to multiple American media reports.
Early May 10 morning, Trump announced on Truth Social that after intense negotiations India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire. India soon confirmed the ceasefire, which Pakistan violated in the next few hours.
