Indian immigrant Lakhvir Singh has become the latest victim of a violent racist attack against Indians in Ireland.
Singh is the third victim in the recent spate of violence against Indians in the country. The Aug. 1 attack on Singh was preceded by attacks on two other Indians on July 19 and July 27. All three attacks occurred in the Irish capital city, Dublin, as per a report by Dublin Live.

Singh, a taxi driver, claimed that he had picked up two men whose ages he estimated at around 20 or 21, from the northside and brought them to Poppintree. However, upon reaching the destination, the two men allegedly opened the driver-side door and assaulted Singh, striking him twice with a bottle.
Singh also claimed that, after the attack, he sought help by knocking on multiple doors but failed to receive any help. Singh then proceeded to call the Irish police, Garda, and was then assisted by the Garda and Emergency Services.

Singh alleged that his assailants shouted "go back to your own country", while fleeing from the scene, as per Dublin Live.
Talking about the assault, Singh said, "I'm really scared now and I'm off the road at the moment. It will be very hard to go back. My children are really scared."
A Garda spokesman reported that investigation is underway and said, "Gardaí are investigating an assault reported to have occurred in Poppintree, Ballymun, Dublin 11 at approximately 11:45pm on Friday, 1st August 2025. A man, aged in his 40s, was brought to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injury. Investigations are ongoing."
According to a report in Dublin Live, Singh has been living in Ireland for the last 23 years. He has worked as a cab driver for a decade.
The July 19 attack targeted an Indian who had migrated to Ireland weeks before the attack. He was allegedly assaulted by a group of Individuals in Tallaght, Dublin. The July 27 attack targeted an Indian origin Data Scientist. The victim was left with a broken cheekbone, among other injuries.
Singh’s assault took place on the same day the Embassy of India in Dublin issued an advisory, urging Indian citizens in Ireland to exercise caution amid a spike in physical attacks against members of the Indian community.
It advised all Indian nationals in Ireland to “take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially in odd hours.”
