The Indo American Cultural Association of Edison, in collaboration with the Consulate of India in New York, celebrated International Yoga Day on June 14.
The event was supported by leading Indo-American organizations and attracted over 300 yoga enthusiasts.

Before the celebration started, the attendees had a moment of silence to remember the victims of the Air India plane tragedy that occurred on June 12 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Nitin Vyas, the coordinator of the event, kicked off the celebration with his opening remarks. Deputy Consulate General Vishal Harsh officially inaugurated the event with a ceremonial lamp lighting.
Sessions were organized on numerous key aspects of the ancient practice of Yoga. Guru Dileepji gave an inspirational talk to the attendees and this was followed by a talk by Mark Becker. A session on laughter Yoga was led by Poonam Gupta. Sessions on Dance Yoga by Radhika Acharya, Functional Yoga by Priti, Physical Yoga by Geeta and by Radhika, Siddha Samadhi Yoga by Vijay Trivedi, Pranayama by Nidhi Pandya, Dharna by Raj Kumar Gupta and Meditation by Suniti Ramanujam were also key highlights of the celebration.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Krishnakant Sangani, H.K. Shah, Mukund Thakkar, Uma Swaminathan, Hemant Patel, Suchitra Kamath, Jassi Singh, Bipin Parekh, Subhash Shah, Ajay Gandhi, Dr. Gunjan Shukla, Dr. Mukesh Solanki, Mahesh Wani, Nalin Shah, and Mehul Shah from the Indo American organization, along with Pravin Patel, Mukund Parikh, and Navin Amin from Edison Senior.
The event was hosted by Rajshree Kotekar from the Isha Foundation and Vijay from Vihangam Yoga. It was held at Sheraton Hotel in Edison, New Jersey.
