Heald, a Georgia-based diabetes care provider offering human-led management and reversal programs, has appointed Indian-American physician Neal Patel as a strategic advisor.

Patel will collaborate with Heald’s clinical and product teams to enhance its care model, strengthen clinical rigor, and guide the integration of data-driven technologies that empower sustainable health outcomes, the company said in a statement.

Currently serving as chief informatics officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Patel brings over two decades of experience to Heald’s mission of reimagining chronic disease care.

“What Heald has built is rare. It’s not just another digital tool or coaching service. It’s an integrated model that connects real-time health data to expert human guidance and most importantly, it works. That’s why I’m excited to be part of this journey,” Patel said.

“What makes Patel exceptional isn’t just his clinical expertise, it’s his deep belief in patient-centered care and his clarity about where healthcare needs to go. We’ve always believed technology doesn’t change lives, people do. With Patel’s guidance, we’re doubling down on that belief: using data and devices to empower human-led care that reverses chronic disease, sustainably and personally,” said Sandeep Misra, co-founder and chief growth officer at Heald.

Heald’s platform blends continuous glucose monitoring, wearable technology, and lifestyle tracking with a dedicated team of physicians, nutritionists, fitness coaches, and behavioral health experts. The result is a deeply personalized care experience that guides members through onboarding, individualized planning, coaching, and ongoing progress tracking—all with the goal of reversing Type 2 diabetes through sustainable lifestyle change.

Reinforcing its commitment to measurable outcomes, Heald recently launched an industry-first Money-Back Guarantee, offering full refunds to participants who do not experience meaningful health improvements.
