Dr. Seema Sachdeva, was named the John A. Strosnider, D.O., Memorial Lecturer 2025 on Sept. 19.
The announcement was made at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) Founders Dinner, in light of her service as a physician, educator, and advocate for children across Eastern Kentucky.
Sachdeva is a board-certified pediatrician with specialized training in pediatric emergency medicine with around three decades of experience. She graduated from the Lady Hardinge Medical College, India, in 1988.

Additionally, as the founding vice-chair of KYCOM’s Division of Pediatrics in the University of Pikeville and a clinical professor of pediatrics, she has shaped the education of future physicians while providing compassionate, expert care.
In 2023, her husband, Dr. Rakesh Sachdeva, was also given the same honor.
Sachdeva currently works at the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center (MCCC) in Kentucky. Expressing joy over the recognition, MCCC said on Facebook, "We are grateful to KYCOM for honoring Dr. Seema Sachdeva and shining a light on the extraordinary difference she continues to make in the lives of children, families, and communities across Central Appalachia."
The University of Pikeville also celebrated her success and said, "We are proud to celebrate Dr. Seema Sachdeva, who was named the John A. Strosnider, D.O. Memorial Lecturer at KYCOM’s Founders Dinner! Her decades of dedication to pediatrics and the children of Eastern Kentucky inspire us all."
