New Delhi–based Hindi rock fusion band Antariksh performed for a full-house concert in Houston on Sept. 10. The event was hosted by the Consulate General of India with support from local diaspora organizations and sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi.

Songs such as Jee Le Zara, Tasveerein, and Dil Se Dil Tak blended heartfelt Hindi lyrics with sharp guitar riffs and pulsating rhythms. Collaborations with Bollywood singers Shilpa Rao and Harshdeep Kaur were also highlighted.

The band was led by founder, composer, singer, and guitarist Varun Rajput, who established Antariksh in 2012. He performed alongside bandmates Joshua Peter on keyboards and vocals, Dan Thomas on drums, and Shrikant Biswakarma on guitars. The Houston show followed a recent stop in Seattle and preceded the band’s next performance in Dallas.

On Sept. 11, Antariksh presented its “Double Bollywood Dhamaka” concert at the Plano Event Center, organized by the India Association of North Texas and DFW Gujarati Samaj. Antariksh’s first album, Khoj, came out in 2013. Over the years, they have released singles such as Kaahe Re, Fanaah, Jee Le Zara, Qu est (with Marty Friedman), and Kaisi Ye Jeet?, among others.

Known for blending Bollywood classics with rock, reggae, and Carnatic elements, the band has staged over 800 performances worldwide, including shows in the U.S. and the Maldives. Its single Quest, featuring former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman and sitarist Dhruv Bedi, has been recognized by MTV as a landmark in Indian indie music.
