રેલેઘ, નોર્થ કેરોલિના શહેરના પરિવહન વિભાગે ભારતીય-અમેરિકન શહેરી-પરિવહન યોજનાકાર હેત પટેલને 28 જૂનથી અમલમાં આવે તે રીતે શહેરના નવા ટ્રાન્ઝિટ આસિસ્ટન્ટ ડિરેક્ટર તરીકે નિયુક્ત કર્યા છે.

આસિસ્ટન્ટ ડિરેક્ટર તરીકે, હેત પટેલ યોજના, સંચાલન અને વ્યૂહાત્મક પહેલોની દેખરેખ રાખશે, એમ એક નિવેદનમાં જણાવાયું છે.

પટેલ આ ભૂમિકામાં છ વર્ષથી વધુનો અનુભવ લાવે છે. તેમણે વિભાગમાં સિનિયર ટ્રાન્ઝિટ પ્લાનર તરીકે જોડાયા બાદ ટ્રાન્ઝિટ પ્લાનિંગ સુપરવાઇઝર તરીકે આગળ વધ્યા, અને શહેરમાં ઝડપી ટ્રાન્ઝિટ વિસ્તરણ અને વિકાસના સમયગાળા દરમિયાન મહત્ત્વની ભૂમિકા ભજવી.

આ નવી જવાબદારીમાં, પટેલ ટ્રાન્સપોર્ટેશન ડિરેક્ટર પોલ કલ્લમને સીધું રિપોર્ટ કરશે અને રેલેઘ યુનિયન સ્ટેશન ખાતે સ્થિત રહેશે, જે શહેરના વિકસતા પરિવહન નેટવર્કનું કેન્દ્રીય હબ છે.
